VCT Masters Copenhagen: A Bettor’s Tournament Preview

Another VCT Masters event, another great day for Valorant betting. On the 10th of July, the VCT Masters Copenhagen will commence, and it will be participated by 12 of the best teams from all around the globe. We reckon you already know what we get whenever international events like these come: a lot of volatility and speculation falls on the odds. And that’s where opportunistic bettors thrive the best. Let’s look at the extremes of the event.

Valorant Masters Betting 2022 Copenhagen Favourite – LOUD

Perhaps you’re expecting to see OpTic Gaming here. If that’s what you think, we get you completely. OpTic is definitely ahead of everyone, and you can see it by looking at how many circuit points they’ve earned compared to everyone else. At the time of writing, they’re sitting on 900, while LOUD, the team with the second-highest, only has 650.

But circuit points don’t tell the whole story. We’ve picked LOUD because the team is nearly flawless. They’ve shown dominance in both their region, Brazil, and the international stage, all the while joining the Valorant competitive scene only in February this year. In the little time we’ve got to see them play so far, they’ve proven again and again that they can best the strongest teams in the world.

We saw it in Masters Reykjavík, where they tore through the upper bracket and even defeated OpTic in that bracket’s final. Sure, they lost to them in the grand final, but the matches were very close, competitive, and not one-sided at all. Two even went to overtime.

So, why is LOUD likely to be bookies’ main favourite? Right now, Bet365 esports’ odds for LOUD against KRÜ Esports is a staggering 1.10. To show the gap, the odds for KRÜ is 6.50. The answer is that they’re the most consistent team despite their short history. And they’re only getting started. They’re already listed as Brazil and South America’s main representative in the game’s biggest tournament of the year: the upcoming Valorant Champions 2022.

Except for their encounter with OpTic in the Masters Reykjavík grand final, they haven’t lost a series since February. Not a single one. This is despite the release of the new patch as well, which shows the team’s great adaptability. OpTic, on the other hand, is showing a little bit of weakness after losing to XSET.

Speaking of XSET, nobody knows how they will perform against teams from other regions since they’ve never made it to an international event before. We have high expectations, but we’re not going to call them the favourite here without first establishing their presence in the Masters.

Valorant Masters Betting 2022 Copenhagen Underdog – Northeption

On the other end of the spectrum, there’s Northeption, an uprising Japanese team who completely turned the tables and shocked everyone by beating ZETA DIVISION 3-1 in the Japan Stage 2 Challengers Playoffs. In case you don’t know, ZETA DIVISION was the Japanese representative in Masters Reykjavík and Masters Berlin in 2021, which is why the upset was monumental for Northeption.

For the first couple of months after signing their new roster on the 8th of February early this year, Northeption was still under everyone’s radar. Maybe the team was still figuring things out when they finished 5-6th in the Japan Stage 1 Challengers and failed to earn a seed at Reykjavík. Their new coach just joined at the time too.

So, what changed in a couple of months? We don’t know, and as esports betting enthusiasts, we couldn’t be more excited. You should be glowing even more as an underdog bettor since the bookies will probably give this team profitable odds, perhaps the most profitable yet justified at least during the early stage of Copenhagen.

We’re seeing the best esports bookmakers giving Northeption 4.10 against the Korean menace DRX (1.15). This is going to be a brutal fight for them. Or are they going to continue shocking the world? We’ll just have to wait and see.

The Copenhagen Conclusion

We don’t like LOUD’s odds. They’re too unprofitable unless you invest a huge sum of money, which isn’t really advisable most of the time. To hedge your risks, you’ll probably have to wait for live odds to change as the event goes on and jump in at the optimal time.

The same goes for Northeption. Since they’re the wild card here, most bookies will probably jump the gun and hike the odds the moment they start losing some rounds, especially since they’re up against such a formidable team. We’re expecting early Christmas, like 5.00 and above. Maybe even 6.00.

In any case, however you arrange your bet slip, be wise and responsible. It also won’t be bad to take advantage of the best betting offers and boost your Valorant Masters 2022 betting experience while you’re at it.
