Not only did it help England win, but it was also the biggest 50-over score in history. In addition, Eoin Morgan’s squad set a new world record for an international match score in a single day.

Phil Salt of Lancashire took over and struck 122 runs off 93 balls, including 14 fours and three sixes. On the other hand, Dawid Malan had a slightly sluggish match rhythm and could only score 125 runs from 109 balls.
After Salt was dismissed, Joss Buttler stepped in and dealt a very powerful blow. Butler headed for the fold and reached the second-fastest 47-ball century in British ODI history.
Besides Buttler, Liam Livingstone also got a chance to set his record. He hit England’s fastest ODI 50 with just 17 balls to reach his half-century.
Buttler’s response regarding the game
After Buttler was able to produce a stunning shot and scored 162 runs on 70 strokes, he said
“We’re going to keep trying. We’re trying to keep pushing the boundaries, taking the game forward and continuing the game.”
Buttler realized that this was a fairly difficult result to achieve due to the relatively small field conditions. Even so, he still tried to give his best performance with aggressiveness and courage in the match, “And we know that it gives us good results.”
Morgan praises Butler’s achievements
Buttler’s appearance in the match drew praise from the captain. This is because Buttler contributed to the score and made England win the match, therefore setting an impressive record.
Morgan said, “It’s great to watch and doesn’t bore us, and not something we take for granted.”
Morgan asserted this is an extraordinary cricket. “That’s the reason why he is probably the best white-ball cricketer in the world right now.”

The Netherlands’ defeat
The Netherlands has managed to fight its way past teams like Papua New Guinea, Canada, and Hong Kong to get to this point. Unfortunately, this first game against England in a three-match series left them very far behind.
Although the Netherlands has tried to catch up with the score, the effort didn’t succeed. In the 50th minute, there was an interruption by three pitchers which made the score gap between the two continue to grow.
With their performance that afternoon, the Netherlands was only able to score 266 runs with 49.4 over.
