Betfred, a British gambling company, has expanded its partnership with the English rugby league. As part of the deal, the company will become the official partner of the league’s wheelchair, men’s, and women’s national teams.
The two-year deal extension between Betfred and professional rugby will begin immediately. It will cover the 2022 World Cup, which will be held in the UK. This event is regarded as one of the most important tournaments in professional rugby.
The partnership between the two companies will officially start on June 18. It will coincide with the event between the Combined Nations All-Stars and England’s men’s basketball team. The women’s wheelchair team will face off against France in Manchester on the same day.
Betfred has been a long-time supporter of professional rugby. The company first became the title sponsor of the Super League in 2017. It then expanded its sports involvement by signing agreements with other organizations such as League 1. It also has contracts with the Women’s Super League and the Championship.
Betfred’s decision to expand its partnership with professional rugby shows its commitment to the sport. Betfred’s long-term commitment to the league also serves as a testimony.
Done satisfied with continued company’s partnership
Fred Done, Betfred’s chairman and chief executive officer, said he is proud of the company’s collaboration with the professional league. He noted that it has been a successful partnership since 2017. He also said that it’s natural for Betfred to support the other teams in the league.

Rimmer praising Betfred’s continuous support
Ralph Rimmer, the chief executive of the professional league, also praised Betfred for its continuous support. He noted that the company has been an outstanding partner during difficult times. Rimmer was also glad to see that the partnership between the two companies would continue.
“Betfred have been outstanding sponsors for the sport of rugby league for the last five years, sticking with us through the challenging times of the Covid-19 pandemic, and this new partnership with our three England teams underlines the strength of that relationship,” Rimmer said.
Betfred is an English company with roots in the North, and it’s great to see that the company will continue supporting the professional league. It’s also hoped that the partnership will continue to help the country’s teams reach the World Cup finals.
A month ago, the company was involved in a legal dispute after failing to pay a player’s prize. Due to the incident, the company was forced to settle the $3 million debt.
